In this class, I will be addressing the best ways to self publish a book. The method you use to go about self-publishing is different for everybody. It depends on several factors:
- Who your target audience is.
- What type of book you are publishing.
- What type of software you own.
- How comfortable are you with using computer software.
- What your budget is.
- How much time you have to invest.
- How much work you want to do yourself.
I will be elaborating on my favorite method which is using an online print-on-demand source and doing all the work yourself, completing your book and listing it on Amazon at no cost. When producing a book yourself, there are some key things you will need to know about:
- Which print-on-demand companies to use for different types of books. ie hard-cover, pocket novel, etc.
- The different ways to obtain an ISBN and why some are better than others.
- How copyright works.
- How to promote yourself.
- How to write a book proposal.
- What software to use to write your book.
- How to setup word properly.
